In-vehicle voice, active noise cancellation (ANC), and cabin interaction increasingly rely on A2B digital microphones. But once a microphone is built into the headliner, headrest, or rearview mirror, how do you quickly confirm whether it "works — and works well"? Over the past few years we built custom development boards for our customers' production lines, one project at a time. Today we are officially turning that experience into a product — the AK3600 A2B MIC Test System.
1. Why move from a "development board" to a "test system"
We have built many A2B-related custom boards. The most common request from customers is this: after the microphone is assembled into a part, is there a simple, reliable bench that can quickly test it?
- Microphone makers need to verify outgoing-unit consistency;
- Parts makers that build microphones into headliners, headrests, and rearview mirrors need to check "whether it still works after assembly";
- Cabin Tier 1 suppliers and OEM audio teams need to test incoming material and post-installation status;
- Third-party testing laboratories need to produce standardized reports.
At their core, all of these scenarios need the same piece of equipment: one that can bridge the A2B bus, read the microphone, output data, and connect to the production line. That is exactly what the AK3600 is.
2. What is the AK3600
In one sentence: a portable test system for A2B digital microphones, covering the complete chain of "connect and test, finish and output data, feed data into the system."
We have organized its core capabilities into nine directions:
- A2B bidirectional bridging — dual A/B A2B ports, master/slave configurable, connecting microphones and downstream nodes
- Microphone testing — directly reads A2B digital microphone data; supports the PDM interface
- Loop operating-current testing — measures the actual operating current of microphones on the A2B loop; abnormal power consumption is spotted at a glance
- Multi-channel impedance test interface — speakers / loads connect in batches with fast channel switching
- Modbus 485 output — standard Modbus RTU; results go straight to MES / production-line stations
- LINE IN / OUT — analog audio input and output, compatible with traditional test loops
- USB host PC — connect to a computer to run the host software for parameter configuration and data export
- Intuitive status indication — DSP / A2B status LEDs display in real time; viewable without a PC
- Wide-range power supply — DC 8–15V, works directly in both bench and in-vehicle environments
3. What it can test: four typical scenarios
1. Parts integrators — post-assembly self-check
After a microphone is built into a headliner, headrest (seat), or rearview mirror, post-assembly inspection is mandatory: is the A2B signal present, is sensitivity normal, is phase consistent, is there any damage. This type of test fixture is naturally customized to the part's shape — and that is precisely our strength.
2. Microphone / acoustic module makers — production-line consistency
Batch testing of microphones before shipment, integrated with existing production lines; test data can be logged.
3. In-vehicle audio Tier 1 / OEM audio teams — incoming material and vehicle integration
Incoming-supplier control, pre- and post-installation status verification, with R&D adaptation support.
4. Third-party testing / laboratories — standardized reporting
Fixed test procedures, with report templates customizable on demand.
4. Why ISSAUTO
We don't just sell a standard device. Over years of delivery, the thing our customers value most is not a specific parameter, but: customization on demand.
- Test items can be added or removed to fit your needs;
- Interface form can be changed to fit your production line;
- Test fixtures can be built to your part's shape.
This is also the difference between us and those who "only make standard products": you bring your production line and parts, and we integrate the testing into your scenario.
In a word about our background: ISSAUTO's core members come from top-tier automotive companies, and our acoustic algorithms originate from the Donghua Laboratory.
5. Watch an actual test
The footage below shows the AK3600 in actual testing — no editing, no customer information — so you can directly see how it works (the full version is published on the ISSAUTO WeChat Official Account and Channels; search "ISSAUTO" to watch):
- Multimeter measuring A2B loop operating current;
- Host PC reading microphone data and checking status indicators;
- Connecting to a production-line station, with results uploaded via Modbus 485.
If you are evaluating similar needs, we also have test samples closer to real production lines, which we can send to you one-on-one for reference.
